The Craft Council of BC is a arts service organization that provides support to the BC craft sector. Currently, we are looking for people who are interested in volunteering a minimum of one, regularly scheduled shift per week, to support our administration and member services. If you have a passion for craft, love engaging with people, and have been trying to find a way to support artists and contribute to BC's cultural economy then we would love to have you! We are looking to fill 2 hour shifts on the following days: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and/or Friday. Shifts can take place between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM depending on your availability. We provide training around all of the software we use to run the organization and some training around contemporary craft processes, allowing for a holistic learning experience. Your specific duties would include: • You will work closely with our Executive Director which will give you a front row seat to see just how a non-profit arts organization runs! • Sharing information about craft and our artists, our gallery space, and CCBC programming. • Filing invoices and program information. • Doing online research around BC artists and guilds. • Using our membership program, Neoncrm, you will assist in keeping our database up to date. Qualifications • We are seeking volunteers from all areas of expertise and backgrounds. Placements and tasks can be dependent on specific skills or interests. Please specify if you have any unique skills that you think would be relevant to volunteering at CCBC. • Courteous, helpful and outgoing personality when interacting with others. • Enjoy working as part of a team and have the ability to take the lead and work independently when required. • Ability to multi-task, organize, and be flexible. • Ability to climb stairs, ladders and lift objects. • Aptitude for learning new computer programs and systems quickly. • Loving to organize everything a definite asset!
