CIBC Run for the Cure Leadership Volunteering - Multiple Postions

The Canadian Cancer Society CIBC Run for the Cure is a volunteer-led 1K or 5K walk or run and the largest breast cancer fundraising event in Canada. This year’s event will be taking place on Sunday, October 4, 2026.

Committee Member Overview

You are passionate about the breast cancer cause, well-connected in your community, and enjoy event planning. The ideal candidate for this volunteer role has a positive attitude, communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of self-motivation and time management.

We are recruiting for the following volunteer committee roles across many locations:

Registration Lead
Run Day Experience Lead
Volunteer Engagement / Volunteer Engagement Lead
Community Engagement / Run Director
Fundraising and Stewardship Lead
Hope Engagement Lead
Community & Corporate Outreach Lead
Site & Route Lead / Route Lead / Site Coordinator
Communications / Social Media / Marketing Coordinator
Volunteer Recruitment Coordinator

The ideal candidate for this volunteer role has:

A positive attitude
Communication and interpersonal skills
A strong sense of self-motivation and time management.

Your commitment
This is a 6-month commitment (May through October).
Attending local committee meetings (generally bi-weekly to monthly).
Independent role work/responsibilities (approx. 4-6 hours per month with increased workload August & September).
Must be available in-person over the event weekend (October 3 & October 4).

Must be 18+ to apply and complete the Canadian Cancer Society code of conduct.
