Books For Me Volunteer

Do you love books and want to inspire a lifelong love of reading in children? Join Books For Me as a volunteer!

What you’ll do:
- Set up books by age group before students arrive.
- Welcome elementary school classes (15 minutes each) as children select a book to take home and keep.
- Help students find books they’ll enjoy 
- Place program stickers in chosen books and guide students to write their names inside
- Track books distributed and assist with cleanup and inventory.
- Put away books at the end of the session

Note: volunteers are required to move boxes of books, sometimes up to 30 lbs. 

Time commitment:
Once per month for 3 hours on a recurring schedule (e.g., first Thursday afternoon of each month). We run sessions in several schools, with a different date for each school.  We are currently looking for volunteers who can commit to one of the following session times:
- One Tuesday morning per month (8:45 a.m. - noon) 
- One Thursday afternoon per month (11:45 a.m. - 3 p.m.) 
- One Monday per month (9:45 a.m. - noon)

We ask volunteers to try to commit for the entire school year (September - June).
