Volunteer Digital Helper for 83-Year-Old Toronto Singer

2-5 hours / weekly
minimum 12 weeks to ongoing
We are looking for a kind, patient volunteer in Toronto to help an 84-year-old singer organize and share her music videos online.

She is a lifelong singer-songwriter who has recently started bringing her Toronto Blue Jays songs to the streets, where people stop, listen, laugh, cheer, and gather around her. Many of her Blue Jays songs are joyful, funny, and welcoming, including songs that invite newcomers and immigrants to feel part of the Blue Jays community.

She also has many other original songs, including deeply emotional songs and a moving anti-war song called “Mamma Don’t You Cry.”

She has many videos of her singing and performing, but needs practical help getting them organized and posted to social media.

Volunteer tasks may include:

- helping review and organize videos on her iPhone
- selecting strong clips to post
- posting videos to TikTok, Instagram, and/or YouTube Shorts
- writing simple captions
- creating a simple posting routine
- possibly filming short clips of her singing
- showing her basic steps when helpful, but the main goal is to help her get the videos shared

Each visit should have one clear goal, such as organizing a few videos, choosing one strong clip, or posting one video online.

Because she is very social and loves to share stories, this role works best for someone who is warm but also able to gently keep each session focused on a simple goal.

This role is ideal for someone interested in seniors, music, arts and culture, social media, digital literacy, newcomers/immigrant community-building, or storytelling.

Important: The volunteer will not handle banking, financial accounts, Apple ID changes, or private passwords. First meeting should take place in a safe public/community setting.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
The volunteer will gain hands-on experience helping an elder artist share her music online, including social media posting, video organization, simple content planning, and storytelling. This is a meaningful role for someone interested in music, seniors, digital literacy, community arts, or building a small portfolio of real-world social media support.
