BCBH Volunteer Program Coordinator

The BC Bereavement Helpline (BCBH) is seeking a Volunteer Program Coordinator to support our mission of providing compassionate grief support, education, and advocacy across British Columbia. As a vital member of our small team, the Volunteer Program Coordinator will assist in the day-to-day operations of BCBH’s programming. This includes coordinating our grief support Helpline, assisting with the delivery of support groups, training sessions, and events, and supporting communication and administrative needs. This role is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, empathy, and an interest in gaining hands-on experience in the non-profit and grief support sectors. Volunteers will work closely with the Program Manager and Executive Director in a flexible, remote environment with meaningful opportunities to grow. Key Responsibilities: -Support the coordination and scheduling of BCBH’s Helpline and volunteer team -Help support new volunteers -Track and update call/email logs and program statistics -Manage registrations for support groups and educational trainings -Assist with content creation, communications, and administrative tasks -Support events and special projects as needed BCBH is committed to creating a supportive and inclusive environment. We understand that grief and loss impact everyone differently, and we are seeking someone who is compassionate, nonjudgmental, and comfortable working with sensitive topics such as death, suicide, homicide, substance use, and traumatic loss. This position is currently remote and requires approximately 10–15 hours per week. Applicants must reside in the Metro Vancouver or Lower Mainland area.

Certification or Education Required
-Post-secondary education in a related field is preferred (e.g. Social Work, Psychology, Non-Profit Administration, Counselling, Public Health, etc.) -Equivalent experience and demonstrated skills will also be considered
