The Digital Literacy Project at Mount Pleasant Neighbourhood House (MPNH) supports the community to increase overall digital literacy by providing one-on-one tutoring in basic computer skills and apps such as Zoom and Gmail, as well as supporting participants to access resources online. 

Volunteer Digital Literacy Trainers work with the Digital Literacy Project Lead to provide one-on-one digital literacy assistance to those with high digital literacy needs, especially seniors. Many participants are new to exploring digital life.  
 
The Volunteer Digital Literacy Trainer: 
- Volunteers every Thursday morning during our Tech Cafe from 10:15 am-12:45 pm 
- Gets partnered with a participant and works with them for a certain length of time, then gets partnered with other participants as the need arises.  The Tech Cafe is a drop-in program for senior participants. 

QUALIFICATIONS 
- 19 years or older 
- Intermediate level English speaker 
- Huge asset: A second language, especially Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, Vietnamese 
- Confident in computer skills and smartphone basics 
- Demonstrates an ability or interest in learning facilitation skills 
- Empathetic, patient and respectful of a diverse group of seniors 

All new MPNH volunteers must complete: 
- Volunteer Application Form (Better Impact) and Policy signing forms 
- Volunteer Interview and Orientation  
- Criminal Record Check
