Program Overview:
· Free ESL program for newcomer families with children under six in Vancouver
· Tutors are matched with ONE immigrant/refugee families after attending 4-hour training program
· Focuses on strengthening English skills and connecting families to community resources
· Delivered virtually through Zoom

Tutor Responsibilities:
· Conduct weekly one-hour virtual tutoring sessions
· Build language skills for newcomers
· Suggest relevant community resources

Program Activities:
· Listening, reading, speaking, writing, and numeracy activities
· Fun, interactive learning for adults and children

Qualifications:
· 19 years or older
· Fluent in spoken and written English (BC Grade 12 English or equivalent)
· Clear Criminal Record Check
· Two non-family references
· Empathetic and respectful of diversity

Commitment:
· One hour per week for a minimum of 6 months
