Learning Club Facilitator
We are looking for volunteers with the following skills and qualifications: • Comfortable building relationships with a diverse group of newcomer youth • Ability to tutor Grades 8 to 12 math, science, or social studies • Post Secondary education is preferred • Additional language is an asset (especially, Tagalog, Farsi, Punjabi, or Chinese) • Excellent communication skills – Patient, understanding • Ability to maintain safe boundaries when working with youth • Must complete a criminal background check What you will be doing as a volunteer: • Tutor and support newcomer youth with their homework • Encourage and motivate youth who do not have homework, to complete additional worksheets • Support youth needing to fill out forms • Play board games and card games with youth
