This position is critical for our formal incorporation within British Columbia, ensuring that our governance framework meets both Canadian regulatory standards and the high academic values of our institution. As a key member of the administrative team, you will bridge the gap between high-level academic scholarship and provincial corporate compliance. Key Responsibilities * Provincial Incorporation: Lead and oversee the legal and administrative documentation required for incorporation under the Societies Act of British Columbia. * Governance Oversight: Maintain the governance framework, including corporate filings, recordkeeping, and the integration of bylaws. * Academic Liaison: Act as a high-level secretary for the Board, ensuring that meeting minutes and policy tracking reflect the university's mission of [authentic Islamic knowledge]. * Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all reporting meets British Columbia and Federal Canadian regulatory standards for educational non-profits. Mandatory Requirements To ensure the integrity of our provincial registration and academic standing, applicants must meet the following: * Academic Excellence: Hold a PhD in Islamic Studies (or a closely related field) from a prestigious, recognized university. * Residency: Must currently reside in British Columbia to facilitate local incorporation and provincial representation. * Legal Status: Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident. * Governance Fluency: Proven experience in non-profit governance, administrative leadership, or legal recordkeeping is highly preferred.
