Grocery Shifts Available Mondays 9-12pm and Wednesdays 9 -12pm or 1-4pm

For decades, Ribbon has operated a Supplementary Grocery Program to support our communities in accessing food! Through this program, we increase access to healthy, culturally appropriate food for people in our community at no cost. Our Grocery Program is open every other week, and volunteers are a huge part of making this happen.

Morning Volunteers (shifts available Monday and Wednesday from 9-12pm) - must be able to lift and carry food items
*receive fresh and packaged food items in the loading bay and bring them into the Grocery program area and/or downstairs shelving area
*unpack food deliveries, including stocking/shelving items, break down cardboard, and organize food that gets delivered within the storage areas
*may include preparing grocery bags for pick up, assisting with unloading of the delivery trucks, stacking inventory items in storage area, ensuring that the grocery is well stocked and ready for distribution and general clean-up

 Afternoon Volunteers (Wed, 1-4pm)
*Ribbon Community clients come to "shop" (for free) in our Grocery area
*Volunteers are part of creating a welcoming and respectful space for all participants 
*Greet clients and check clients out after they finish shopping as well as:
*Assisting clients in the distribution space
*Assisting clients with bagging their groceries 
*Restocking and organizing shelves when necessary
*Assisting with general clean-up (i.e. put away the perishable food items, break down and discard empty boxes, sweeping etc)

All volunteers are required to maintain confidentiality.
