Use $500 to create your own volunteer opportunity
Ongoing
This program is an opportunity for you to gain leadership skills, run a project of your choosing, receive valuable experience for post-secondary applications, or get volunteer hours. This is open for youths ages 15-29 years old. Here’s what you will do: Identify a need/issue in your community and organize a project that will address that need/issue. You will also receive a grant of up to $500 (or more, depending on your project details) to fund your project. You can run a basketball tournament to bring youth together and promote physical exercise, you can host a video game night to help others destress, you can start a community library box to encourage reading, or you can do just about anything else you can think of. Check out this website to see more awesome community projects that you can do! (www.youthfund.ca/ideas) Learn from different skills training workshops for 1 week to help equip you with the necessary skills (e.g., project planning, budgeting, etc.) to organize and launch your idea. Then, attend a 1-on-1 coaching call with staff to give you support planning your project. Program schedule: We currently have 2 ONLINE cohorts this summer. Please choose when you're available, and we'll get back to you. Please note that there may be a long waitlist, but we are actively getting back to everyone. Cohort 4: July 28–Aug 1, 12 PM - 3 PM EDT Cohort 5: Aug 11–15, 12 PM - 3 PM EDT
