What is Youth Empowering Parents (YEP)? - Youth Empowering Parents (YEP) is a United Nations award-winning program that empowers youth to volunteer to teach the skills they have to adults/seniors in their own communities. - Imagine, for example, a group of high-school volunteers teaching a group of seniors 1-on-1 how to use their smartphones (e.g. how to use Google Maps, how to take and send photos to family), or teaching a group of newcomer parents some basic ESL skills. - Youth Volunteer Tutors at YEP have taught adults/seniors a broad range of skills, such as painting, playing a musical instrument, dance / fitness, proper ways to recycle, and so much more. What Do Youth Leaders Do at Youth Empowering Parents (YEP)? - Youth Volunteer Tutors teach skills 1-on-1 to adults/seniors. And a different group - Youth Leaders - are in charge of making these opportunities happen. This opportunity is for you to join our Youth Leaders training program, get volunteer hours and a reference letter for a job, scholarship, or a post-secondary application.
