About the Toronto Carnival Run:
The Toronto Carnival Run is a not-for-profit, Caribbean-inspired 5K, 10K, and 1K run/walk that promotes health, wellness, and community. All proceeds support the Simunye Foundation, which is working to establish a museum and cultural centre dedicated to preserving the African Canadian diaspora.

Position Summary:

The Partnership Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the Toronto Carnival Run by identifying and securing funding, sponsorships, vendors, and other partnership opportunities. This individual will take initiative in building relationships with external organizations that align with the event’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

* Identify and contact potential sponsors and partners for the 2025 Toronto Carnival Run
* Create and maintain a list of partnership prospects, managing outreach and follow-up
* Customize and distribute sponsorship proposal packages
* Assist in reviewing and editing partnership materials and proposals
* Work with the Race Director and Marketing Team to ensure sponsor visibility and deliverables are fulfilled
* Secure vendors and in-kind contributions where appropriate
* Track partner commitments and coordinate logistics related to sponsor/vendor participation
* Represent the Toronto Carnival Run professionally and enthusiastically in all interactions

Time Commitment:

* Volunteer position (unpaid) for a not-for-profit community fundraising event
* Mandatory attendance at 2–3 in-person planning meetings
* First Team Meeting: Monday, June 2 at 7:00 PM
* Remaining meetings scheduled based on majority availability
* Participate in virtual meetings as needed

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

* Strong communication and relationship-building skills
* Experience or interest in fundraising, sponsorship, event planning, or marketing
* Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks
* Passion for health, community, and cultural events
