Fundraising and Events Director - Volunteer Board Member

Second Stage Dance is a registered Canadian charity working to make dance more accessible, affordable, and sustainable. Our mission is to reduce financial barriers to participation while extending the life of valuable dancewear.

We are seeking a strategic, relationship-focused volunteer Fundraising & Events Director to join our Board of Directors and help strengthen the fundraising capacity of our growing charity.

In this role, you will help shape fundraising strategy across donor engagement, fundraising campaigns, and events alongside our Board and Fundraising Commitee.

Key responsibilities may include:

* Helping develop and guide the organization’s fundraising strategy
* Identifying and cultivating donors, sponsors, and corporate partners
* Supporting fundraising campaigns, events, and donation drives
* Helping develop corporate giving and sponsorship opportunities
* Supporting donor stewardship and relationship-building
* Helping establish and lead a Fundraising & Donations Committee
* Recruiting volunteers and community supporters to assist with fundraising initiatives
* Tracking fundraising revenue and related costs
* Collaborating with the Treasurer on fundraising-related financial reporting
* Providing fundraising updates and recommendations to the Board

We are especially interested in candidates with experience in fundraising, nonprofit development, sponsorship, events, donor relations, corporate partnerships, community engagement, or nonprofit marketing.

This role may be a strong fit for an experienced professional looking to give back, someone transitioning into nonprofit board work, a semi-retired or retired professional, or a university student or recent graduate with meaningful fundraising, events, sponsorship, or leadership experience.

Previous board experience is welcome but not required.

This is a remote volunteer Board position with flexible scheduling. The expected time commitment is approximately 3–5 hours per month outside of active fundraising campaigns or event periods.
