Cam's Kids Ambassador
Ongoing
The Cam's Kids Ambassador Program is a student-led initiative of Kids Help Phone, comprised of chapters in high schools and post-secondary institutions across Canada. Continuing the legacy of Cameron Hicks, a young person who navigated anxiety and reaching out for support through high school, this peer-led program focuses on creating awareness of mental health and the range of services and offerings available to them through Kids Help Phone. Through various in-person and virtual interactions, Cam's Kids Ambassadors offer valuable resources to their peers, building their own capacity as youth leaders and strengthening their community. Ambassadors play a crucial role in empowering others to learn more about their own mental health and in educating their peers about reaching out for support, making a positive impact in their communities. Once your application has been reviewed and approved, you will be granted access to our mandatory ambassador training. After completion, you will be introduced to the Team Leads for your chapter. If a chapter has not yet been started at your institution, we will reach out with further details. If you have any questions, please feel free to send them to camskids@kidshelpphone.ca.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
As a Cam’s Kids Ambassador, you join a national network of youth volunteers dedicated to mental health awareness. Ambassadors gain leadership and teamwork experience, access opportunities for public speaking and community engagement, and build skills to support future careers. They’re also eligible to apply for one of two annual $2,500 Outstanding Ambassador scholarships.
