Foster Coordinator

● Works in conjunction with the Adoption Coordinator, Transport Coordinator, Relinquishment Coordinator and the President ● Main contact with shelters, etc for intake ● Finds out all the info about the dogs (age,gender,spayed/neutered, vaccinated, temperament, behavioural/medical issues, why it was relinquished, good with other dogs/cats/kids, heartworm status) ● Ensures we receive all the Veterinary information/records ● If the dog is not vetted (spayed/neutered. Vaccinated, HW tested, flea prevention) ask the shelter to do the vetting ● Provides the Transport Team Lead (Leah Ferries-Scott) with the information to set up the transport, ie shelter name, address and contact information and foster parent contact information and address.(a transport outline has been provided) ● Set up transport with Critter Cabs, Freedom Drivers or Pilots4Paws when needed. ● In conjunction with the Foster Liaison #2, sets up a foster home for the dog and ensures the foster parent is provided with the medical records. ● Add the specific Foster Dog information on the JRTRO Google Drive ● Updates and maintains the Foster Spreadsheet ● Contact for applications and Facebook messages and helps monitor Facebook page and group, members, etc ● Secondary Contact for adoption applications ● Notifies the other team members of the new foster parent. Email Liaison #2 to Up-date foster spreadsheet including ppl responsible for tags/rens, newsletter & transport. ● Ensures the team is aware of what types of dogs the foster parent can take and if they have any of their own pets or children. (i.e. will take a troubled dog, easy dog, low barking dog, male, female, etc.) ● Notify Liaison #2 if the new foster will do transport, Liaison #2 will record on the spreadsheet. ● notifies adoption coordinator when a dog is ready for adoption after receiving notice from foster team. ***** ● Send follow up emails to the fosters/adopters sending medical records, chip change, etc when dogs are adopted ● Monitors the palliative care dogs with fosters ● Send monthly email update to the fosters ● Administrator on the Facebook group, page and Instagram. ● Prepare annual report for the President ● Create and monitor a first aid kit guideline for fosters to keep on hand also placing a new folder for recommendations on the drive. *****This is where the job of the foster team ends as once the dog is turned over to adoptions it becomes adoptions department.
