Volunteer Wrangler

206 Beverley St., ON, M5T 1Z3 [map]
5 hours / weekly
Ongoing
Family Shed is a place for veterans and the community to tackle projects that give us a chance to talk while working shoulder to shoulder. It’s a place to connect with each other, learn new skills, and share what we know.

We need Volunteer Wranglers to help people get organised and make progress. The most important part is being patient; with yourself and the volunteers. It means learning the systems being used for organising and evaluation as well as.knowing how to do all the volunteer jobs.

Skills you need:
* Be organised and able to organise others
* An interest in being helpful
* Inspire people to work as a team
* Thorough understand of Excel, Word, and Google Sheets
* Being gregarious and affable

There is a lot to learn. We use training programs from YouthREX, Jack Canfield, Government of Canada, and the Mental Health Association. Most of them are free. Where there is a cost, Family Shed reimburses you after successful completion.

No experience required, but definitely preferred. An active interest in volunteerism is appreciated. We’ll mentor you into the role. All you really need is a pleasant disposition, willingness to be helpful, and strong organisational skills.

Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
This is an exciting opportunity to build practical experience running a volunteer program for a developing not-for-profit program.

We want you to enjoy your experience so you say nice things to others about us, and take the opportunity to grow with Family Shed. We provide all the training you need. (For high school students, we are happy to sign your volunteer form.) You get a lot more detail when we do an interview.
