Family Shed is a place for veterans and the community to tackle projects that give us a chance to talk while working shoulder to shoulder. It’s a place to connect with each other, learn new skills, and share what you know.

Family Shed is hosting East York Trivia Mondays and 3 Saturday Music Nights this Fall. There is a long list of things for volunteers to do, and we need a couple folks to help everyone stay organised.

The most important part is being patient. Which also means you need to learn the systems being used. You need to know how to do every volunteer's task.

Volunteers are:
* Prepping food & serving
* Selling tickets for drinks and food
* Selling merchandise
* Shooting video, editing, and posting to social media

Skills you need:
* Be organised and able to organise others
* An interest in being helpful
* Inspire people to work as a team
* Operate an iPad
* Accept cash and card payments
* Being gregarious and affable

Time Commitment
* 2 hrs minimum to complete Food Handler Certification
* 30 min minimum to complete Smart Serve Certification
* Training - 6 hrs to start and ongoing
* 6 hrs/wk week - 6pm to midnight
* Assistance with shopping will be appreciated

No experience required, but definitely preferred. An active interest in volunteerism is appreciated. We’ll mentor you into the role. All you really need is a pleasant disposition, willingness to be helpful, and strong organisational skills.
