You know this one had to be here, right? If someone is making content, there has to be someone doing the editing, yes? Can you imagine slapping two hours of people playing trivia games onto YouTube?

Family Shed is a place for veterans and the community to tackle projects that give us a chance to talk while working shoulder to shoulder. It’s a place to connect with each other, learn new skills, and share what you know. 

Family Shed is hosting East York Trivia Mondays and we’re looking for volunteers to lend a hand. Trivia Mondays run every week from 8 Sep to 15 Dec (except Thanksgiving). Each evening gives you two hours of video from at least three cameras. Now it has to be cut down into shorts and a little bit of longform content. How does that get done?

Yes, experience is definitely needed here. You have to come through the door with editing and organising skills. There’s no need to be Zack Snyder (especially since he’s a director rather than an editor), but it might help to be leaning toward Conrad Hall (father or son).

Time Commitment
* Training - you training camera operators - 1hr to start
* 4 hrs/wk at the event - 6pm to 10pm
* 6-8 hrs during the week to edit video

There is a little more time needed when you start. We need to get together so you can see the equipment and the venue. There’s also the conversation about putting the plan into play to make the content attractive. There’s always that pesky penis-measuring contest for likes, shares, followers, and subscribers.
