Are you a confident leader who loves cats and enjoys helping people succeed? The Volunteer Cat Shelter Manager role is a meaningful opportunity to lead a passionate team of volunteers while ensuring the well-being of our cats at the shelter.

This hybrid role combines hands-on animal care with behind-the-scenes coordination. You'll play a key part in managing daily cat routines, mentoring volunteers, and ensuring our feline residents receive top-quality care and medical attention.

🕐 Time Commitment: 8–10 hours per week
 📍 Location: Hybrid – approx. 50% remote and 50% in-shelter (Etobicoke)
 💰 Compensation: This is a volunteer (unpaid) position, but your impact is priceless.
 🚗 Requirements: Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

What You’ll Do:
🐱 Oversee the day-to-day care, well-being, and housing of cats in the shelter
 🤝 Supervise, support, and coach shelter volunteers—you're their go-to guide
 🩺 Coordinate veterinary visits and communicate with clinics about treatment
 📋 Help develop and implement care protocols and ensure proper documentation
 📦 Work with the Supply Manager to keep food and care items well-stocked
 📞 Be available for occasional on-call response to shelter emergencies
 📅 Collaborate with other managers to schedule mingling/out-time and intake of new cats

Who Are You:
✅ You have at least 2 years of experience supervising or coordinating a team (volunteer or paid)
 ✅ You’re familiar with feline behaviour, care, and comfortable handling anxious or fearful cats
 ✅ You’re calm under pressure and able to make sound decisions when needed
 ✅ You lead with empathy, support others with patience, and take initiative
 ✅ You’re detail-oriented, reliable, and know how to keep operations on track
 ✅ You align with EHS’s mission and bring a team-first attitude
 🎓 Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant education is a bonus, but not required
