The Special Services to Children and their Families (SSCF) program works with children ages 5 – 18 years old that have a developmental disability and/or autism. We are a community-based program that works on increasing a child’s social skills, life skills, communication skills, and involvement within the community. Volunteer Opportunity Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and families? We are seeking caring, committed volunteers to support our programs that provide vital services to children with diverse needs and their families. This is a rewarding opportunity to give back, learn, and grow in a supportive community setting. We are seeking Special Services Support volunteers to support our SSCF Program. This is a rewarding experience and we are looking for individuals who are interested in gaining more work experience or who have lived experience and want to give back to support others. This position is helping in our Surrey and Langley location on Tuesdays from 2:30 – 7:30 Education, Training, and Experience: Previous experience working with children is an asset but not required Minimum 18 years of age Criminal Record check that meets the bona fide occupational requirements of the position Ability to follow direction Able to deal with stressful situations Reliable, non-judgmental and motivated Personal values, abilities and characteristics are consistent with those of the agency The successful candidate must: Adhere to agency and program policies and procedures Have a passion for working with children Be flexible and creative Be able to work as part of a team Participate in on-going training requirements and opportunities Maintain the dignity and integrity of the program and agency within the community Contact: Lori LaCroix at lori.lacroix@options.bc.ca Program Manger, SSCF program.
