Amelia Douglas Institute Board of Directors

The ADI is currently seeking to fill seven (7) volunteer board member seats. The ADI board is responsible for the following:
-	Uphold the ADI’s mission, vision and mandate (see ADI website for detailed descriptions)
-	Providing strategic planning, oversight and guidance to support the ADI’s growth and long-term operational success.
-	Act honestly and in good faith in the best interests of the ADI and uphold the ADI’s bylaws.
-	Attending and participate in virtual Board Meetings (frequency to be decided by the Board) and Annual General Meetings. At this time, all board meetings will be held virtually and travel will not be required. 

Board Member Eligibility
Please take note of the following regarding Board member eligibility requirements:
-	The ADI shall endeavor to ensure the composition of Directors will reflect a broad range of experiences, expertise, and shall, where practicable, be representative of all MNBC regions.
-	A majority of Directors must be a Citizen of a Governing Member of the Métis Nation.
-	A majority of Directors must currently reside in British Columbia.
-	Directors must possess knowledge of Métis culture, history, material arts, and/or Michif languages.
-	Experience within the museum, culture, heritage, charitable sector, marketing, education or other relevant sectors is an asset.
-	Prior board experience is an asset.

If you’d like to contribute to this exciting opportunity to advance Métis cultural knowledge and awareness in British Columbia by volunteering your leadership, knowledge and expertise, please consider applying. Each application must include the following:
-	A cover letter expressing why the applicant would be a good fit
-	A resume or curriculum vitae that outlines the applicant’s relevant employment, volunteer, lived and/or academic experience.
-	Proof of Métis citizenship (if applicable)
Please submit your application to Mallory Blondeau at mblondeau@mnbc.ca by April 30th, 2024. Successful applicants will be appointed by the Selection Committee in accordance with ADI’s bylaws and notified in early June.
