Grant Researcher and Writer

The Flare Initiative is a national nonprofit organization focused on first responder suicide research, data collection, awareness, and prevention. We’re looking for a detail-oriented, mission-driven volunteer who can take up responsibility for leading our grant research and writing projects. This is a collaborative and hands-on role where you’ll research funding opportunities and build relationships with funders. This role focuses on identifying potential grants, gathering basic requirements, and writing proposals. You’ll help us communicate our mission and impact through these proposals. This is an excellent opportunity for a grant writing professional, someone in between careers seeking to build experience, or anyone who wants to use their skills to make a tangible difference. What You’ll Do: - Maintain a simple list of upcoming opportunities - Assist with letters of intent - Support the assembly of required documents - Contribute to tracking submissions and reporting dates - Light research into sponsorships, community foundations, and other funding pathways Your work and contributions will have an immediate impact and we look forward to you joining our team!
