ABOUT US: Shea-Lynn's Butterfly Effect (SBE) is a small but growing charity focused on saving lives through seatbelt education and awareness. With the right fundraising support, we can expand our reach and protect even more families and communities. OVERVIEW: As a member of the Revenue Development Committee (RDC), you’ll support fundraising activities that help sustain and grow our mission. You’ll collaborate with a passionate team, contribute ideas, and help bring events and campaigns to life. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys teamwork, creative thinking, and making a meaningful impact in their community. Fundraisers, grant writers, communicators, finance professionals, community connectors, and retirees looking to give back are especially encouraged to apply, but anyone with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn is welcome. WHAT YOU'LL DO Fundraising & Outreach: • Support fundraising campaigns, events, and grant opportunities • Help identify donors, sponsors, in‑kind supporters, and assist with basic donor stewardship Collaboration & Strategic Input • Attend monthly committee meetings (hybrid) • Share ideas and feedback to strengthen fundraising efforts Event Support • Assist with event setup, guest engagement, and follow‑up Documentation & Follow‑Through • Help track event details or fundraising outcomes • Complete assigned tasks between meetings WHO YOU ARE • Enthusiastic about SBE’s mission • Purpose‑driven and community‑minded • Creative, dependable, and action‑oriented • Collaborative and open to learning • Relationship‑focused and grounded in trust and gratitude WHAT YOU'LL BRING • Experience in fundraising, grant writing, or donor relations is an asset, but creativity, reliability, and willingness to learn matter most • Strong communication skills • Comfort with email, virtual meetings, and shared documents • A valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle for local event support ADDITIONAL LOGISTICS • Need to be based in Edmonton, AB or surrounding area. • Must be able to commit to a one-year term (preferably two). • Flexible remote role; some evening/weekend availability needed for events. • Approx. 5-10 hours per month (varies by season and event prep) Thank you for considering this rewarding volunteer opportunity.
