Revenue Development Committee (RDC) Chair

Shea-Lynn's Butterfly Effect (SBE) is a small but growing charity focused on saving lives through seatbelt education and awareness. With the right fundraising leadership, we can expand our reach and protect even more families and communities.

The REVENUE DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE (RDC) CHAIR is a key volunteer leadership role that helps drive the fundraising efforts of Shea-Lynn’s Butterfly Effect (SBE). You’ll guide a small team, support events and campaigns, and help build the resources that allow us to create safer communities through seatbelt education and awareness.

This is a meaningful opportunity to grow your leadership, strategic planning, and event management skills while making a tangible impact.

Fundraising & Outreach
• Support events, campaigns, grants, and sponsorships.
• Help identify opportunities and build donor/sponsor relationships.

Volunteer Leadership
• Help recruit and support volunteers for the RDC.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.

Financial Awareness
• Assist with simple budgets and tracking for fundraising activities.
• Share progress updates as needed.

Collaboration
• Work with the Executive Director to align fundraising with SBE’s mission.
• Represent SBE at community events when appropriate.

Who You Are
• Passionate about community safety and prevention.
• Collaborative, relationship‑focused, and organized.
• Creative, strategic, and comfortable leading others.

Qualifications & Experience
• Experience in fundraising, development, or sales (formal or informal).
• Leadership experience, especially with volunteers, is an asset.
• Strong communication and project coordination skills.
• Grant writing or donor relations experience is a bonus.
• Proficiency with basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace); experience with a CRM is a plus.
• A valid Class 5 driver’s license and access to a vehicle for occasional event support.

Logistics
• Volunteer needs to be based in Edmonton, AB or surrounding area.
• Must be able to commit to a one-year term (preferably two).
• Flexible remote role; some evening/weekend availability needed for events.
• Approx. 15+ hours per month (varies by season and event prep)
