ABOUT US

Shea-Lynn's Butterfly Effect (SBE) is a small but growing charity focused on saving lives through seatbelt education and awareness. Volunteers are at the heart of our work, and with the right creative writer, we can support more families and expand our impact across the community.

OVERVIEW

Grant writing is skilled, intensive work, and it’s one of the most impactful things a volunteer can do for SBE. As Grant Writer, you’ll be engaged on a project-by-project basis when the ED and Grant Researcher identify a strong funding opportunity. You’ll work closely with the ED to understand SBE’s programs, priorities, and impact, then craft a compelling, well-researched proposal that makes the strongest possible case for funding. Every successful grant directly enables SBE to grow its reach and impact.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
•	Review grant guidelines and eligibility requirements thoroughly before beginning
•	Gather the organizational information, data, and stories needed for each application
•	Write clear, compelling grant narratives that align SBE’s work with funder priorities
•	Incorporate feedback from the ED and revise drafts as needed
•	Compile supporting documents and ensure submissions are complete and accurate
•	Submit applications on time and maintain records of all submissions
•	Support reporting requirements for awarded grants when needed

WHO YOU ARE
•	Passionate about SBE’s mission and able to communicate it compellingly
•	Detail-oriented and thorough — you don’t cut corners on something this important
•	Collaborative — you work closely with the ED and incorporate feedback constructively
•	Self-directed and deadline-driven — you manage your time and deliver
•	Resilient — you understand that not every application succeeds and you keep going

Ready to be part of the change? Sign up today! 🚀
