ABOUT US Shea-Lynn's Butterfly Effect (SBE) is a small but growing charity focused on saving lives through seatbelt education and awareness. Volunteers are at the heart of our work, and with the right volunteers, we can support more families and expand our impact across the community. OVERVIEW Finding the right grant opportunities is one of the most valuable things someone can do for a small charity like SBE. As Grant Researcher, you’ll scan the funding landscape on an ongoing basis — identifying grants SBE may be eligible for, tracking deadlines, and maintaining a grants calendar that helps us stay ahead of opportunities rather than scrambling to catch up. This is a focused, self-directed role that makes a real difference to our sustainability. WHAT YOU'LL DO • Research and identify grant opportunities • Maintain an up-to-date grants calendar tracking deadlines, eligibility criteria, and funder priorities • Summarize key details of each opportunity so the ED can assess fit quickly • Monitor for new funding announcements • Flag time-sensitive opportunities to the ED as soon as they are identified • Support the Grant Writer by providing organized, well-documented research when applications are approved WHO YOU ARE • Someone who is curious and thorough, you dig until you find what you’re looking for • Organized and systematic, you keep things tidy and easy to navigate • Self-directed and reliable, you deliver consistently without needing to be chased • Genuinely motivated by helping SBE find the resources it needs to grow This role requires a minimal investment of time, but your support helps create a lifesaving ripple effect. Ready to be part of the change? Sign up today! 🚀
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
• Direct contribution to SBE’s financial sustainability and growth • Experience in nonprofit fund development and grant research • Flexible, remote role with a manageable monthly commitment • Recognition and eligibility for a reference letter after 3 months of consistent service
