President/Chair

Are you passionate about libraries, literacy, and community building? This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in non-profit management and play a vital role in supporting the St. Albert Public Library.

As President/Chair, you will be at the heart of our organization, coordinating and supervising the activities of the Friends. You will lead a passionate team, chair meetings, and guide our strategic direction. This is a hands-on role that includes overseeing finances, reporting, and communications, and representing the Friends to the public and the Library Director.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Executive Committee, chairing meetings and setting agendas
- Oversee the organization's finances, records, and reporting
- Drive strategic planning, advocacy, communications, and membership recruitment
- Act as the primary liaison between the Friends members, the Executive, external partners, and the Library Director
- Support other Friends members and assist with occasional event planning

An interest in learning is key! You do not have to be an expert to get started in this role. Must live in the St. Albert/Edmonton region.
