About The Squamish Food Bank (The Market): The Squamish Food Bank, known as The Market, is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization dedicated to redefining food access and equity. Operating as a grocery-store-style market, The Market aims to create a safe and dignified shopping experience for all community members experiencing food insecurities in Squamish, all while creating a positive impact on the local food system. Position Overview: The Squamish Food Bank is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Market Check-In Volunteers. As a Market Check-In Volunteer, you will play a crucial role in providing a warm and welcoming experience for our clients during market hours. Your responsibilities will include welcoming and checking in clients, orienting them to the facility, and maintaining cleanliness in the check-in area. Shift Times: Saturday: 11:15 am to 1:45 pm Tuesday: 11:45 am to 3:15 pm Wednesday: 12:15 pm to 2:15 pm Thursday: 2:45 pm to 5:45 pm If you are passionate about fostering a positive community environment and supporting those in need, we invite you to apply to join our dedicated team of volunteers. Training will be provided, and staff are always available to answer questions and troubleshoot problems.
Certification or Education Required
Proof of vaccination required. Food Safe and First Aid certification are assets, but not required.
