The Laundry & Donations Helper at Squamish Helping Hands supports the safe operation of the laundry room and helps accept and organize donations from the community. You’ll work with a wide variety of people, including Squamish Helping Hands residents and the public. This is a great opportunity to meet and support many people. The ideal person is friendly, outgoing, and has excellent customer service skills. You should also be comfortable operating commercial laundry equipment. Shift Details: Morning shifts help move emergency shelter bedding through the wash so beds can be reset, freeing frontline staff to assist participants with other needs. Afternoon shifts focus on organizing incoming donations and cleaning the donation area. Key Tasks: Greet participants in the laundromat and create a welcoming space Show users how to operate washers and dryers Perform light cleaning and maintenance of machines Move emergency shelter bedding through washers and dryers Distribute coins to laundromat users Welcome community members dropping off donations (clothing, blankets, hygiene supplies) Sort and organize donations, keeping shelves tidy Launder donations as needed Shift Times: 2-hour shifts available daily between 9:30am–12:00pm or 4:00pm–8:00pm Flexible timing Ideally, one shift per week

Training will be provided for this position and support will be available from the Program Manager.
