Rotaract, a Rotary partner, is an international service organization for people 18 to 30 years old for giving back to their local and international community, developing themselves personally and professionally, and make new friendships. There are 7500 Rotaract clubs in 156 countries of the world, including one in Strathcona County.

The Rotaract Club of Strathcona County is very active and has completed many projects, including:

• Planting trees in local parks
• Making Christmas dinner for the homeless
• Moving donated furniture for women fleeing domestic violence
• Hosting fundraisers, such as paint nights, axe throwing and silent auctions
• Packing shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child
• Harvesting vegetables for the Food Bank
• Dismantling playgrounds in Alberta and rebuilding them in Tanzania and Dominica

Through Rotaract, we’ve travelled internationally, developed professional and leadership skills, and made life-long friendships with people of all ages and backgrounds.

The Rotaract Club of Strathcona County meets most Tuesday evenings in Sherwood Park. If you would like to learn more about them, see their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/strathconarotaract/
