The Strathcona Shelter Society operates A Safe Place, an emergency shelter for women and children, a crisis and family violence information line, provides community outreach, and public education. Founded in 1982, we work to end domestic abuse and violence in our community. Since opening its doors to the community in 1982, A Safe Place has sheltered more than 25,000 women and children.
