Wix Website Designer (Remote, Part-Time)
Ongoing
Organization: Right to Live Canada Location: Remote (United States, Canada or Europe) Time Commitment: Firm commitment of 10 to 12 hours per week. Duration negotiable, four month minimum. ------ THE MISSION Right to Live Canada is a virtual-office based Canadian non-profit start-up working to make the right to live a practical, supported, and executable choice. The organization was founded in response to systemic poverty-driven euthanasia among Canadians with disabilities, including situations where people consider MAiD because they cannot access the essential resources needed to continue living. While this remains a founding application point, our work extends more broadly toward building Continuity — the service, financial, technological, and institutional architecture needed to keep people connected to preferable living futures. Our four core areas are: Continuity Service— identifying, proposing, financing, and executing preferable living futures in potential death scenarios. Continuity Insurance — developing financial models to support Continuity Service. Social Brokerage — developing systems to fund people who cannot afford Continuity Service or Insurance through impact-based financing. Corporate Farming — incubating concepts, teams, projects, and emerging non-profits around important technologies, infrastructure, and social issues. Right to Live Canada is a founder-centric, early-stage non-profit pursuing national and global expansion. ------ ROLE DESCRIPTION We are seeking a Wix Website Designer to design, build, improve, and maintain professional pages across our Wix websites. ------ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -- Design and build responsive Wix pages and sections. -- Translate briefs, content, and reference ideas into polished layouts. -- Improve and maintain existing website pages. -- Ensure consistent visual design, typography, spacing, imagery, and navigation. -- Check websites across desktop, tablet, and mobile. -- Collaborate with the Executive Director, organizational leads, and other designers. -- Receive feedback, make revisions, and complete assigned work to a professional standard. -- Use modern design tools and AI tools such as ChatGPT where appropriate. ------ QUALIFICATIONS Required: -- Minimum 3 years of professional website design experience; 5+ years strongly preferred. -- Professional experience designing and building websites using Wix. -- Strong portfolio demonstrating polished, production-quality website work. -- Strong understanding of layout, typography, colour, spacing, hierarchy, imagery, and responsive web design. -- Ability to turn written requirements and reference designs into clear, usable website experiences. -- Ability to design and quality-check pages across desktop, tablet, and mobile breakpoints. -- Strong attention to detail and professional communication. -- Ability to work independently with ownership, reliability, and follow-through. -- Ability to consistently commit 10–12 hours per week.
