Recruiting Manager (Remote, Part-Time)

Organization: Right to Live Canada Location: Remote (United States, Canada or Europe) Time Commitment: Part-time volunteer commitment, 10-12 hours per week, for a minimum of four months. Required Weekly Meeting: Attendance at the relevant weekly team meeting is required. The meeting schedule will be confirmed during onboarding; all other work may be scheduled at your convenience. ------ THE MISSION Right to Live Canada is a remote Canadian nonprofit start-up building practical systems that make continued life a viable option for people facing preventable death because essential supports, care, treatment, housing, income, or financing are unavailable. We are developing Continuity, an integrated service and financing model designed to identify what would make continued life viable, assemble the required intervention, solve the financing problem, and help execute a real outcome rather than another referral dead end. Our work includes Continuity Service, Continuity Insurance, Social Brokerage, and the development of mission-driven organizations and technologies that support long-term continuity of life. ------ ROLE DESCRIPTION Right to Live Canada is seeking an experienced Recruiting Manager to lead our organization-wide volunteer recruiting pipeline. The Recruiting Manager will translate approved staffing needs into a clear and controlled flow of requisitions, recruiter assignments, candidates, interviews, decisions, and accepted placements. This role is central to our growth as we build a high-capacity volunteer organization across operations, administration, research, media, fundraising, technology, and program development. ------ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -- Maintain the organization-wide requisition registry and recruiting pipeline. -- Prioritize open roles based on organizational needs. -- Assign requisitions across recruiters and manage recruiting capacity. -- Monitor recruiter activity, pipeline quality, and weekly output. -- Identify stalled roles, bottlenecks, and follow-up gaps. -- Coordinate with department leaders on recruiting needs and priorities. -- Improve recruiting workflows, tracking systems, and operating processes. -- Ensure candidate records, decisions, and hiring activity remain organized and visible. -- Support clean handoff of accepted candidates into the People Services system. -- Help scale recruiter capacity and management structure as the organization grows. The role works closely with the Head of People Services, recruiter team managers, recruiters, People Services Operations, and department leaders. This is a high-ownership position suited to someone who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain consistent follow-through in a fast-moving remote startup environment. ------ QUALIFICATIONS Universal Requirement: You must possess good equipment for virtual meetings, both video and audio. You must attend virtual meetings with the capability to give it your full attention, like a dedicated office room or space. Required: -- Professional experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, recruiting operations, HR, or a closely related field. -- Experience managing multiple open requisitions, candidate pipelines, recruiters, or recruiting workflows simultaneously. -- Ability to prioritize hiring demand, allocate recruiting capacity, identify bottlenecks, and keep multiple roles moving. -- Strong written and verbal communication skills. -- Strong organization, time management, judgment, and attention to detail. -- Comfort working remotely with a high level of ownership and accountability. -- Familiarity with Google Workspace, shared calendars, Slack, applicant tracking systems, requisition tracking, or similar collaborative recruiting tools. -- Ability to handle applicant information, staffing priorities, and recruiter performance with professionalism and discretion. Preferred: -- Experience leading or coordinating recruiters or talent acquisition teams. -- Experience building or improving recruiting pipelines, requisition systems, recruiter-capacity systems, or applicant tracking workflows. -- Experience measuring or improving recruiting performance. -- Experience recruiting for remote, startup, volunteer, or rapidly scaling organizations. ------ TIME COMMITMENT This is a part-time volunteer position requiring 10-12 hours per week for a minimum of four months. Attendance at the relevant weekly team meeting is required, while remaining hours may be scheduled flexibly.
