Organization: Right to Live Canada Department: Global Narrative Integrity Team Location: Remote (Canada, United States, or Europe) Time Commitment: 35 hours/week minimum, four-month minimum commitment (duration negotiable) Right to Live Canada is a virtual-office based Canadian non-profit start-up dedicated to realizing the right to live as a practical, supported, and executable choice. Founded in response to poverty-driven euthanasia among Canadians with disabilities, we are building Continuity—a service, financial, technological, and institutional framework that helps people remain connected to preferable living futures. Our work spans Continuity Service, Continuity Insurance, Social Brokerage, and Corporate Farming to create scalable solutions that protect and extend the right to live. ------ ROLE DESCRIPTION We are seeking a Media Intelligence Lead to lead the Media Intelligence Department within our Global Narrative Integrity Team. This senior volunteer leadership role oversees global media monitoring and narrative intelligence, helping the organization identify and analyze emerging news, public policy developments, media coverage, and online conversations related to Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) and related issues. Working closely with editorial and research teams, the successful candidate will transform complex information into timely, evidence-based intelligence that supports informed decision-making. ------ KEY RESPONSIBILITY -- Lead the Media Intelligence Department. -- Supervise Regional Media Intelligence Analysts and OSINT Monitoring Specialists. -- Coordinate monitoring of news media, digital publications, podcasts, legislative proceedings, and social media. -- Develop and maintain Boolean search strategies and media monitoring systems. -- Identify emerging narratives, policy developments, and significant media coverage. -- Produce daily and weekly intelligence briefings for leadership. -- Work with research teams to support fact-checking and evidence development. -- Collaborate with editorial, public affairs, and digital operations teams to set priorities. -- Maintain monitoring dashboards, alerts, and intelligence databases. -- Develop standardized monitoring procedures and mentor volunteer analysts. -- Continuously improve monitoring methods and digital intelligence workflows. ------ QUALIFICATIONS Required: -- Experience in media intelligence, journalism, OSINT, communications, intelligence analysis, public affairs, or a related field. -- Demonstrated experience conducting media monitoring, open-source intelligence gathering, or strategic research. -- Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities with exceptional attention to detail. -- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -- Experience interpreting complex information and producing concise intelligence briefings. -- Strong organizational and project management skills. -- Ability to prioritize multiple developing stories within a fast-paced environment. -- Comfort working remotely with a high degree of ownership, initiative, and accountability. -- Professional judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information. -- Commitment to a full-time volunteer schedule of approximately 35 hours per week. Preferred: -- Experience using media monitoring platforms, OSINT tools, or digital intelligence systems. -- Familiarity with Boolean search development, database research, and digital investigative methodologies. -- Experience supervising analysts or coordinating intelligence teams. -- Knowledge of public policy, healthcare policy, journalism, or strategic communications. -- Experience working in nonprofit organizations, think tanks, research institutions, or media organizations. -- Interest in building a globally scalable media intelligence capability dedicated to improving evidence-based public discourse. ------ TIME COMMITMENT This is a full-time volunteer role requiring a minimum commitment of 35 hours per week. Right to Live Canada is an early-stage, founder-led organization pursuing rapid national and global expansion.
