Right to Live Canada is a virtual-office based Canadian non-profit start-up dedicated to realizing the right to live as a practical, supported, and executable choice.

Founded in response to poverty-driven euthanasia among Canadians with disabilities, we are building Continuity—a service, financial, technological, and institutional framework that helps people remain connected to preferable living futures. Our work spans Continuity Service, Continuity Insurance, Social Brokerage, and Corporate Farming to create scalable solutions that protect and extend the right to live.

------ ROLE DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a Managing Editor, Narrative Integrity Desk to lead the day-to-day editorial operations of our Global Narrative Integrity Team.

Working closely with the Head of Global Narrative Integrity and Deputy Director, this senior volunteer leadership role oversees editorial workflows, research coordination, fact-checking, quality assurance, and publication processes. The successful candidate will help ensure all briefing materials, evidence packages, and outreach content meet high standards of accuracy, clarity, and professionalism.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys newsroom leadership, project management, mentoring volunteers, and improving editorial processes.

------ KEY RESPONSIBILITY
-- Lead the daily editorial operations of the Narrative Integrity Desk.
-- Assign and coordinate monitoring, research, fact-checking, and outreach projects.
-- Supervise Editorial Coordinators and manage editorial workflows.
-- Review briefing notes, evidence packages, policy summaries, and outreach materials before publication.
-- Ensure editorial quality, factual accuracy, source transparency, and consistency.
-- Facilitate editorial briefings and weekly planning meetings.
-- Monitor project timelines and departmental deliverables.
-- Collaborate with Media Intelligence, Research, Public Affairs, Editorial Outreach, and Digital Operations teams.
-- Improve editorial processes, documentation, and workflow efficiency.
Support volunteer onboarding, mentoring, and leadership development.

------ QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
-- Experience in editorial leadership, journalism, communications, publishing, public affairs, or a related field.
-- Demonstrated experience managing editorial workflows, publications, or multidisciplinary projects.
-- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
-- Strong editing, proofreading, and quality assurance abilities.
-- Excellent organizational, planning, and project management skills.
-- Ability to coordinate multiple simultaneous projects while maintaining editorial quality.
-- Comfort working remotely with a high degree of ownership, initiative, and accountability.
-- Experience leading collaborative teams and mentoring volunteers or junior staff.
-- Professional judgment, reliability, and discretion when handling organizational communications.
-- Commitment to a full-time volunteer schedule of approximately 35 hours per week.

Preferred:
-- Experience working within a newsroom, media organization, communications agency, nonprofit, or public affairs environment.
-- Familiarity with editorial style guides, fact-checking methodologies, and evidence-based communication.
-- Experience managing remote editorial teams using collaborative project management tools.
-- Knowledge of media intelligence, public policy, research synthesis, or strategic communications.
-- Experience developing editorial policies, operational workflows, or publication standards.
-- Interest in helping build a globally recognized public affairs organization dedicated to strengthening narrative integrity and evidence-based journalism. 

------ TIME COMMITMENT
This is a full-time volunteer role requiring a minimum commitment of 35 hours per week. Right to Live Canada is an early-stage, founder-led organization pursuing rapid national and global expansion. The role is best suited to someone who is comfortable with startup intensity, high responsibility, and a culture of serious dedication to the mission.
