Organization: Right to Live Canada Department: Global Narrative Integrity Team Location: Remote (Canada, United States, or Europe) Time Commitment: 35 hours/week minimum, four-month minimum commitment (duration negotiable) Right to Live Canada is a virtual-office based Canadian non-profit start-up dedicated to realizing the right to live as a practical, supported, and executable choice. Founded in response to poverty-driven euthanasia among Canadians with disabilities, we are building Continuity a service, financial, technological, and institutional framework that helps people remain connected to preferable living futures. Our work spans Continuity Service, Continuity Insurance, Social Brokerage, and Corporate Farming to create scalable solutions that protect and extend the right to live. ------ ROLE DESCRIPTION We are seeking a Head of Global Narrative Integrity to provide strategic leadership for our Global Narrative Integrity Team. This senior volunteer leadership role is responsible for setting departmental direction, guiding organizational priorities, and ensuring the quality and integrity of the organization's public affairs, research, and communications work. Working in a collaborative newsroom-style environment, the successful candidate will oversee Editorial Operations, Media Intelligence, Research & Evidence, Editorial Outreach, Public Affairs, Digital Operations, and Strategic Communications. This role is ideal for an experienced leader who enjoys building teams, mentoring volunteers, improving systems, and driving organizational growth. ------ KEY RESPONSIBILITY -- Provide strategic leadership for the Global Narrative Integrity Team. -- Set annual, quarterly, and operational priorities. -- Supervise department leads across editorial, research, media intelligence, communications, digital operations, and public affairs. -- Coordinate leadership meetings and oversee departmental planning. Ensure editorial quality, factual accuracy, and evidence-based decision-making. -- Build relationships with journalists, researchers, policymakers, academic institutions, and other stakeholders. -- Support volunteer leadership development, training, and mentoring. -- Review organizational performance, reports, and operational metrics. -- Develop policies, operational procedures, and scalable organizational systems. -- Promote collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement across departments. ------ QUALIFICATIONS Required: -- Experience in executive leadership, organizational management, public affairs, journalism, communications, nonprofit leadership, or a closely related field. -- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate complex projects. -- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. -- Strong organizational, strategic planning, and time-management abilities. -- Experience evaluating evidence and making informed decisions based on research. -- Comfort working remotely with a high degree of ownership, initiative, and accountability. -- Ability to mentor volunteers and develop future organizational leaders. -- Professional judgment, discretion, and reliability when representing the organization externally. -- Commitment to a full-time volunteer schedule of approximately 35 hours per week. Preferred: -- Experience leading nonprofit organizations, startups, or mission-driven initiatives. -- Experience in media relations, editorial leadership, public affairs, or strategic communications. -- Familiarity with OSINT, media intelligence, or evidence-based research methodologies. -- Experience developing operational systems, governance frameworks, or organizational policies. -- Background working with journalists, academic institutions, government, or public-interest organizations. -- Interest in building a globally scalable, evidence-driven public affairs organization. ------ TIME COMMITMENT This is a full-time volunteer role requiring a minimum commitment of 35 hours per week. Right to Live Canada is an early-stage, founder-led organization pursuing rapid national and global expansion.
