Grant Administrator (Remote, Part Time)
Ongoing
------ About Right to Live Canada Right to Live Canada (RTL) is a federally incorporated nonprofit dedicated to empowering Canadians with disabilities to live with dignity. We address the root causes of poverty and exclusion—especially food insecurity, inadequate housing, and gaps in medical care—through practical programs, advocacy, and partnerships nationwide. ------- Grant Administrator (Remote) Do you love turning ambitious visions into fully funded realities? Right to Live Canada is a fresh, fast-moving nonprofit that hasn’t yet tapped the vast world of grants—meaning the runway is wide-open for a gifted strategist to design our funding engine from day one. If you’re the kind of person who can read a community’s unmet needs, translate them into compelling narratives, and back them with airtight budgets and data, we want you at the drawing board. As our first Grant Administrator, you will architect every stage of the grant life-cycle: mapping the funding landscape, building a living database of prospects, orchestrating deadlines, and crafting submissions that rise to the top of highly competitive piles. You’ll establish the gold-standard processes that future team members will follow, forging relationships with government programs, charitable foundations, and corporate giving arms while measuring impact in real time. Every successful proposal you land won’t just keep the lights on—it will put healthy food on dinner tables, keep vulnerable Canadians housed, and give people with disabilities the resources to live with dignity. If the idea of shaping a grant strategy from scratch—and watching your work translate directly into life-changing programs—energizes you, this is your moment to lead. ------ Roles & Responsibilities ● Conduct research on available funding sources and opportunities in Canada ● Prepare and maintain a database of funding opportunities in Canada and keep track of available opportunities year round as well as deadlines. ● Complete all grant applications in a timely manner, to ensure that RTL can secure funding to run its programs. ● Generate new and creative ideas on how to receive funding for RTL's programs and campaigns. ● Works closely with other RTL teammates as required to seek input into funding applications. ------ Skill Set & Experience ● 1-3 years experience doing grant related work and applications to seek funding for non-profit projects ● Possess good organizational skills with keen attention to detail ● Ability to work and coordinate multiple projects and deadlines ● Skilled technical writing, proof-reading, editing, copywriting, grant writing or equivalent written communication format ● Familiarity with government and academic funding opportunities ● Ability to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and written ● Understanding of Canadian funding mechanisms ● General knowledge of accounting principles and contractual agreement / administration language ● Bilingual is a plus ------ Why Volunteer with RTL? Strengthen your professional network, broaden your portfolio, and hone your grant-writing skills. ------ How to Apply Apply through Volunteer Connector or attach your résumé and email volunteer@righttolive.ca with “Grant Administrator Application” in the subject line.
