Director of Social Finance & Impact Products (Remote, Part-Time)

Organization: Right to Live Canada Location: Remote (United States, Canada or Europe) Time Commitment: Part-time volunteer commitment, minimum 20 hours per week, including meetings and all role work. Four-month minimum. ------ THE MISSION Right to Live Canada is a Canadian non-profit start-up working to make the right to live a practical, supported, and executable choice. We are building systems and programs to support preferable living futures. ------ ABOUT THE ROLE The Director will lead Social Brokerage, a proposed model that turns approved Continuity plans into standardized impact products that corporations, foundations, institutions, and impact investors can fund. The Director will build the model from concept through validation and pilot, creating a trustworthy system for funding, execution, verification, privacy-protected reporting, and institutional participation. ------ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES -- Define the impact product, buyer value proposition, operating model, and transaction process. -- Develop how Continuity plans are matched with institutional capital. -- Build and lead the Social Brokerage department. -- Recruit and coordinate specialists across finance, impact measurement, operations, risk, privacy, legal, and compliance. -- Engage potential institutional buyers, investors, foundations, corporations, and strategic partners. -- Validate the model and drive it toward an end-to-end pilot. -- Use AI-assisted research and documentation while maintaining professional verification standards. ------ QUALIFICATIONS Universal Requirements: -- Good video and audio equipment for virtual meetings. -- A quiet, dedicated environment where you can give virtual meetings your full attention. Required: -- Direct experience building a social-finance, impact-investment, outcomes-based finance, blended-finance, pay-for-success, or comparable impact mechanism. -- Experience moving a new financial or impact product from concept into pilot, launch, transactions, or operational use. -- Senior leadership experience building and managing cross-functional teams or departments. -- Ability to design an impact proposition, buyer value proposition, operating model, transaction flow, and market strategy. -- Experience working with corporations, foundations, financial institutions, impact investors, governments, or institutional capital providers. -- Ability to lead specialists across finance, impact measurement, risk, privacy, legal, and compliance. -- Strong leadership, communication, judgment, commercial reasoning, and follow-through in an early-stage environment. Preferred: -- Experience with outcomes-based funds, social impact bonds, impact marketplaces, or results-based financing. -- Strong relationships within impact investing, philanthropy, corporate social impact, or outcomes finance. -- Experience with sensitive human-services, health, disability, housing, or social-support outcomes. -- Zero-to-one startup, nonprofit venture-building, or new-department experience. ------ TIME COMMITMENT Minimum 20 hours/week for at least four months.
