Volunteer Board Member
Help Preserve and Celebrate Indigenous Heritage Wanuskewin Heritage Park Authority is seeking dedicated and community-minded individuals to join our volunteer Board of Directors. On the north edge of the City of Saskatoon and within the RM of Corman Park, Wanuskewin is a 741-acre National Historic Site and Provincial Heritage Property protecting and interpreting over 6,000 years of archaeological resources to advance the understanding and appreciation of the evolving cultures of the Northern Plains Indigenous peoples. We are looking for individuals who share a deep respect for Indigenous knowledge, cultural preservation, and community engagement—and who are ready to lend their skills to support our long-term sustainability and growth at an exciting time in the organization’s history as we work towards UNESCO World Heritage Site designation. We Are Especially Interested in Individuals Who: - Have lived experience or strong connections with Indigenous communities - Are passionate about cultural preservation, education, and reconciliation - Bring experience in areas such as non-profit leadership, government relations, fundraising, finance, cultural programming and education, visual arts, heritage conservation, legal, land stewardship, or communications - Can actively participate in quarterly board meetings and contribute to committee work - Are committed to a 3-year term of service and are open to learning in a collaborative, culturally respectful environment The deadline to apply is 12:00pm May 30th.
