Love photography, social media, and working with horses? Join us in sharing meaningful moments from the ranch. Spirit Winds Ranch is looking for two creative and dependable volunteers to help share the story of our equine-assisted learning programs through photos, videos, and social media. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys being creative, working with animals, and contributing to a meaningful cause while building real-world experience and a portfolio. About the Role As a Social Media Volunteer, you’ll capture and share moments from the ranch, including program sessions and everyday life with the horses. You’ll collaborate with another volunteer and our team to create engaging, authentic content. We aim to keep this role flexible and supportive, while maintaining enough consistency to keep our pages active. This is a new role within our general volunteer category, and responsibilities may grow gradually with your input and interests. Details • Location: Cochrane or surrounding area (in-person ranch visits required) • Age: 18+ (youth 16–17 welcome with parental/guardian consent) • Equipment: Smartphone with a good camera or a standalone camera What You’ll Do • Visit the ranch approximately every two weeks (shared schedule with another volunteer) • Capture photos and short videos during sessions, events, or general ranch activities • Help create social media content (we aim for a few posts per week as a team) • Contribute ideas and creative input • Help build a library of content for future use What We’re Looking For • Comfortable with Instagram and Facebook • Basic photography skills (or willingness to learn) • Familiarity with tools like Gmail, Google Drive, or Canva is helpful, but we’re happy to show you the basics • Comfortable writing short captions • Able to commit to a consistent biweekly schedule • Communicates clearly if availability changes • Enjoys working independently and as part of a team • Comfortable around horses (orientation provided) • Comfortable uploading and organizing photos/videos so they can be shared with the team Commitment & Fit Because our programs and animals benefit from consistency, this role is best suited for someone who can commit to at least 3 months. We understand that schedules can change; if something comes up, we simply ask for open communication so we can plan accordingly. What You’ll Gain • Hands-on experience in social media and content creation • Portfolio-building opportunities • Experience working with a non-profit organization • A supportive, collaborative environment • Time spent outdoors with horses Additional Information • We’ll support you with guidance and feedback along the way, with occasional opportunities to connect onsite with the program lead.
