Connections is a community based charitable organization that was started in 1974 by a group of committed and passionate young people with the help of a United Way grant. Now known as Connections Community Service Society we work with community to make certain that children, youth and families in Richmond thrive and are given every opportunity to succeed today and tomorrow.

Whether helping set up for a special community event, mentoring a student who needs support, or teaching seniors how to work with technology, each of our volunteers makes a valuable contribution to our programs and events. Most of our volunteers make long-term commitments, such as volunteering for a school term or for the full school year.

There are many benefits to volunteering with Connections. We offer leadership training, professional development skills, workshops and coaching. And, our youth are able to make a difference in the lives of many of our more vulnerable community members.
