Fund Development & Grant Writing Coordinator, Canadian Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (CNPEA)

10-15 hours / monthly
2 years with possibility of extension
The Fund Development & Grant Writing Coordinator plays a vital role in strengthening CNPEA’s sustainability and long-term impact. Working closely with the Executive Director (ED) and the Fund Development Committee, this volunteer will lead research, writing, and coordination efforts related to fundraising, grants, and other funding opportunities.
This role directly supports CNPEA’s strategic priorities by helping secure financial resources necessary to advance education, awareness, research, prevention initiatives, and efforts to address ageism across Canada.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Research relevant funding opportunities aligned with CNPEA’s mission and strategic priorities
Identify government, corporate, and private foundation prospects
Prepare and write compelling grant proposals and funding applications
Coordinate and manage grant submission timelines and requirements
Develop clear and persuasive concept one-pagers for emerging project ideas
Support and grow other forms of fundraising, such as CNPEA’s Giving Program
Assist the Executive Director and Fund Development Committee with fundraising strategy and related tasks
Track deadlines and maintain organized records of submissions and outcomes

Qualifications & Experience
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in fund development and grant writing
Proven track record of successful grant submissions (please be prepared to share examples or outcomes)
Experience researching and navigating grant directories and funding databases
Strong research, analytical, and writing skills
Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment
Understanding of nonprofit governance is an asset
Knowledge of issues related to aging, elder abuse prevention, or ageism is an asset
