About The Asanty Beauty Foundation

The Asanty Beauty Foundation is the nonprofit arm of Asanty Beauty, a purpose-driven organization dedicated to empowering underserved communities through access to hygiene products, beauty care essentials, self-care resources, and community programs.

The Foundation is organizing **Building Future Ottawa 2027**, a community-focused event bringing together youth, community leaders, nonprofits, businesses, educators, and government representatives to explore collaborative solutions that support Ottawa’s goal of ending youth homelessness.

Position Overview

The Asanty Beauty Foundation is seeking a **motivated and organized Event Planner Volunteer** to support the planning and coordination of **Building Future Ottawa 2027**.

The Event Planner will work closely with the Foundation’s leadership and event team to help coordinate event logistics, timelines, speakers, partners, volunteers, vendors, and other key event components. This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in gaining practical experience in event planning, nonprofit event management, community engagement, and project coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the planning and coordination of Building Future Ottawa 2027.
Help develop and maintain event timelines, task lists, schedules, and planning documents.
Assist with coordinating speakers, panelists, community partners, vendors, volunteers, and other event participants.
Support venue, catering, equipment, décor, registration, and other logistical planning as assigned.
Assist with tracking event-related deadlines, deliverables, and follow-ups.
Communicate with team members, partners, and service providers in a professional manner.
Support guest registration, attendee experience, and event-day logistics.
Assist with the preparation of event materials, schedules, signage, and other resources.
Identify potential logistical challenges and communicate them to the Event Lead or Foundation Director.
Participate in team meetings and provide regular updates on assigned tasks.
Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and accurate records when handling organizational and event information.

Qualifications

Interest in event planning, project coordination, nonprofit work, or community development.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
Ability to meet deadlines and follow through on assigned responsibilities.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Notion, or similar organizational tools is an asset.
Previous event-planning experience is an asset but **not required**.
Passion for community engagement and supporting initiatives that address youth homelessness and other community challenges.
