Smilezone 50/50 Volunteers Needed!
Want to get involved in your community in a fun and rewarding way? Smilezone Foundation is looking for friendly volunteers to sell 50/50 tickets at the Hamilton Tiger-Cats home game against the Edmonton Elks on Friday, September 20th at 7:00 PM! Help raise funds for our mission while enjoying the game-day atmosphere and connecting with others. As a registered charity in Oakville, Ontario, Smilezone transforms hospital and health care spaces to make them more comforting and fun for children and families. We add vibrant colors, engaging murals, sensory tools, and more to brighten their day. All proceeds from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 50/50 will go directly towards upcoming Smilezone projects. Join us in making a difference! Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Educating fans on Smilezone Foundation’s mission • Selling 50/50 tickets at the stadium • Operating electronic 50/50 technology • Collecting funds and distributing 50/50 tickets to buyers Skills and Qualifications: • Strong communication and interpersonal skills • Friendly, outgoing, and calm demeanor • Comfortable engaging with large crowds in a busy stadium environment • Comfortable learning and using new technology • Basic math skills Requirements: • MUST be 18+ years old to apply o OLG Licensing Act requires anyone selling or buying lottery tickets to be 18+ years of age. • Have access to transportation to and from 500 Sherman Ave N, Hamilton ON L8L 8J6 • Provide a copy of a valid government ID (driver’s licence, health card, or passport) • If you have any accessibility needs, please let us know so we can best support you. Time Commitment: We are looking for 20 volunteers for this game. Volunteers will be needed from 4:30 PM – 9:30 PM. • Arrival & Training: Meet outside the glass doors at Gate 1A (Balsam Avenue North, near Cannon Street) at 4:30 PM for training, lottery rules review, and device setup. • Selling: Volunteers will sell 50/50 tickets from when gates open at 5:30 PM until the end of the 3rd quarter (approx. 9:30 PM). About half of the volunteers will sell from designated seated locations, while others will sell walking through concourse levels. • Parking: Please note that there is no free parking available on game days. Street parking is an option but can be busy, so allow extra time to find a spot if driving.
