Furniture poverty is real and pervasive in our community. However, it is often hidden behind closed doors. With the support of the community and our donors, MFB is working hard to end furniture poverty in Peel and Halton.

We believe that furniture is a basic need. It helps to create a sense of security and safety; a comfortable home is an integral part of our identity, dignity, and well-being.

Since 2010 MFB has helped over 10,000 individuals and families turn their ‘place to live’ into a home. Our clients are extraordinary survivors who have experienced incredible challenges in their lives – poverty, abuse, addiction, disability, abandonment, civil war and more – and need this support to finally establish home and normalcy for themselves, their children, and their families.
