Tutor -High School Grade 12 Law, Grade 9 Science & Geography)

Help support high school students by tutoring in specific subjects at Kerr Street Mission. We are seeking tutors for one-on-one sessions in Grade 12 Law, Grade 9 Science, and Grade 9 Geography.

Available Shift: Thursdays, 4:45 PM – 5:45 PM

Responsibilities:
Guide and support students in a one-on-one, in-person setting, focusing on the subject assigned.

Assist students with homework or other school assignments, helping to reinforce and supplement their classroom learning.

Commit to attending consistently each week, building a supportive and trusting relationship with your student.

Provide feedback to KSM staff on student progress as needed.

Participate in a volunteer orientation or training prior to beginning tutoring.

Engage with students in a positive, respectful, and encouraging manner.

Communicate openly with KSM staff regarding any concerns or observations about the student’s learning.

Requirements:
Ability to relate appropriately to high school students.

Must provide a current and clear Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).

Strong knowledge or experience in the subject area(s) you wish to tutor.

Previous tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience is an asset but not required.
