KSM Cafe Volunteer

Working as part of a team, prepare and serve nutritious lunches for members of the KSM community 
 

Available shifts: Tuesdays 10:00am-1:15pm 

 

Responsibilities:  

Under the direction of the KSM Cafe Lead, work alongside a small team of volunteers to prepare the assigned components of the lunchtime meal  
Serve the meal to the our KSM members (approx. 40 people)
Greet clients warmly and provide excellent customer service
Clean up kitchen once meal is complete, following KSM’s cleaning protocols which include  disinfecting the work counters, disposing of waste/recycling and sweeping floors in the kitchen  
Follow KSM’s Safe Food Handling policies and procedures by washing hands, wearing gloves if needed and utilizing a hair covering 
Qualifications:   

Must be 18+ 
Vulnerable Sector Check is required 
Cooking experience/comfort in the kitchen is a must 
Ability to take direction and work independently 
Ability to work well as part of a team 
Ability to provide excellent customer service 
Food Handling Certification is an asset 
Commitment:  Weekly commitment for a minimum of 6 months
