Volunteer Opportunity: Facilitator of AI, Tech & STEM Workshops at Oakville Community Center

We are looking for experienced volunteers with a technical background to support our “AI Made Easy” workshop series for seniors at Oakville community centres. Each session explores practical AI topics such as creating greeting cards, design a travel plan and guided hands-on activities.

1. Oct 9, 2:00 – 3:00 PM, River Oaks Community Centre, AI Made Easy: Create a Family Memory Page
2. Nov 27, 2:00 – 3:00 PM, River Oaks Community Centre, Grandparent + Grandkid Robotics Workshop
3. Dec 7, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, River Oaks Community Centre, 3D Printing Christmas Gift Workshop

What You’ll Do
Guide seniors step-by-step in using AI tools (e.g., creating greeting cards)
Provide hands-on support during activities
Help create a patient, friendly, and inclusive learning environment
Assist with setup and basic troubleshooting

Who We’re Looking For
High school senior / university students / adults with basic technical or AI-related knowledge
Comfortable explaining concepts in a simple and patient way

Experience with teaching, tutoring, or workshops is an asset
