Volunteer Victim Support Caseworker — Level 2

5-8 hours / weekly
6 months term
Cyber Harassment Support (CHS) is looking for a Volunteer Victim Support Caseworker (Level 2) to provide trauma-informed, non-clinical support to individuals affected by cyber harassment. The volunteer will review Level 1 referrals, assess immediate safety and support needs within approved protocols, provide approved digital-safety education and referral options, and develop structured case action plans. Responsibilities also include documenting case decisions and follow-ups in CHS systems, coordinating with Level 1 volunteers, escalating complex or critical cases to Level 3, and recommending case closure when appropriate.

Applicants should demonstrate trauma-informed communication, empathy, discretion, digital-safety awareness, careful risk recognition, strong documentation skills, and the ability to maintain professional boundaries. Previous victim-services experience is preferred but not required.

This is an unpaid, remote volunteer opportunity, with Canada-based applicants preferred. The initial commitment is 5–8 hours per week, with actual coverage depending on case volume and approved arrangements.

Volunteers must complete CHS onboarding, confidentiality requirements, role-specific training, and supervised practice before receiving authorization for independent casework. All case information must be handled through approved CHS systems.

This is not a clinical counselling, legal advice, emergency response, or investigative role. Volunteers must follow approved safeguarding and escalation protocols, including immediate escalation of imminent harm, child-safety concerns, or urgent physical threats. CHS does not guarantee 24/7 monitoring or emergency response.

Independent casework will begin only once CHS has approved the necessary safeguarding procedures, reporting obligations, supervision, and coverage arrangements.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Gain practical experience in trauma-informed communication, structured case coordination, digital-safety education, and privacy-conscious documentation. Develop skills in identifying support needs, following safeguarding procedures, and coordinating referrals while contributing to CHS's mission. Receive role-specific training and supervised onboarding before undertaking authorized casework.
