Volunteer Intake & Case Support Worker — Level 1

5 hours / weekly
6 months term
Cyber Harassment Support (CHS) is looking for two Volunteer Intake & Case Support Workers (Level 1) to help manage incoming support requests from individuals affected by cyber harassment. Volunteers will monitor designated CHS communication channels during scheduled shifts, send approved acknowledgment messages, maintain accurate CRM case records, collect essential intake information, identify urgency indicators, and refer cases to the appropriate Level 2 caseworker. Responsibilities also include tracking follow-ups, documenting case handovers, and preparing de-identified information for reporting.

Applicants should demonstrate empathy, discretion, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to follow established scripts and escalation procedures. Basic familiarity with CRM systems and SharePoint is required.

This is an unpaid, non-clinical, remote volunteer opportunity, with Canada-based applicants preferred. The commitment is 5–8 hours per week, with staggered scheduled coverage.

Volunteers must complete CHS onboarding, safeguarding and privacy training, and supervised practice before receiving authorization for independent case access. Volunteers must use approved CHS systems and must not provide counselling, investigate cases, conduct detailed risk assessments, contact alleged perpetrators, or use personal communication channels for casework. Urgent safety concerns must be escalated immediately under CHS protocols. CHS is not an emergency response service.

Casework will begin only once CHS has approved the necessary safeguarding procedures, supervision, and coverage arrangements.
Certification or Education Required
Careful data entry, empathy, discretion, consistent documentation, ability to follow scripts and escalation checklists, basic CRM/SharePoint literacy.
Why should you volunteer for this opportunity?
Gain practical experience in nonprofit operations, structured intake procedures, case documentation, and privacy-conscious communication. Develop organizational skills while contributing to CHS's mission of supporting individuals affected by cyber harassment. Receive role-specific training and supervised onboarding before undertaking authorized casework.
